I think she did. The story goes that they created Serena because Montgomery got "tired" of playing the goodie-two-shoes Samantha.

But then when you realize that Serena made her appearance in season two, you wonder. Montgomery got tired after just one season of playing the goodie-two-shoes character?

Clearly Elizabeth wasn't Samantha. And no one claims she was. But it appears from her interviews, she absolutely was not the ray of sunshine that Samantha was.

Any thoughts?

I would not say she hated her but I do not think EM and Samantha had much in common. I am sure it was a lot more fun to play Serena.

She didn't hate Samantha at all, it's just that she liked playing Serena from time to time because it was refreshing for her, it was a change, but she didn't hate Samantha
