I think the people who put this together were not that far off the mark. I'm not suggesting this show was good what I am suggesting is that Michael might have been able to successfully play a certain police detective named Columbo. Falk was 73 years of age when the he did the next to last Columbo and 75 for the final episode in 2003. Frankly speaking he was much too old to play the part and succeeded in killing the series as a result. I believe Richards could have captured the essence of the Columbo character bringing a new energy which would have extended the shelf life of the iconic sleuth.
