IMHO no but it came close. A show jumps the shark when the writing gets really dumb or a new cast member is introduced to jump start ratings.
The first 4 seasons of Golden Girls were the best. Seasons 1-3 have no padding or bad episodes and that was because of the writers. Season 4 is still strong but not as good as the first 3 seasons. Season 5 it seems the writing changed. Season 6-7 the writing became "Cheers" like where there is supposed to be laughter ever line which got annoying. There are still a few good episodes in 6-7 but most of them are meh.

In real time. I loved every episode. But looking back, I dislike anything after season 4.

I think you could tell where the show was going at the beginning of Season 5 with the different lighting and the horrible quality and the unrecognizable and different hairstyles and the great decline in writing and plots and storylines. The Season 5 finale was wack and the Season 5 premiere had an odd feeling to it. Season 6 had weak and horrible plots and storylines, weak quality and lighting as usual by that time, and great lack of good writing. Season 7 had better plots and storylines but still had weak quality and lighting, and not too good writing.
