When writing an essay, how many drafts do you usually write before your final?

It depends on what I am writing the essay for. If it's something I'm comfortable writing about I'll write just one rough draft, but if it's a subject I'm totally lost in then I'll scribble 4 or 5 rough drafts before it begins to make sense.

I write the report first, then the ruff draft, and turn em into the teacher and say that i did it the right way.

It depends on me. At times I'll write something, and then hate everything I said or how I worded it and I'll throw the draft away. So for school assignments I would say about 2 or 3 times, but if it was a story that I did on my own time- prob about 1 time.

Usually 4, but since one of my worse qualities is being a perfectionist, sometimes it takes me 6 or 7. One essay I was writing for Language Arts took 8 this year.
