Why? Just why? First of all, Steve wasn’t even related to Richie. Second of all, Steve wasn’t even a decade older than Richie. So why did Richie call Steve UNCLE STEVE??! If he called him Uncle Steve then Eddie, Laura, and Judy should’ve been calling him Uncle Steve.

Yeah it is best not to try to look too in depth about things regarding Family Matters. THe show itself didn't really take itself seriously so the viewer shouldn't either.
