Page Six reports DeGeneres is about to begin talks to renew her talk show, which has one year left on her existing deal, as she is suffering an 8% ratings drop following a string of controversies last year.

When you look at the general picture ever since her talk show began Ellen DeGeneres has turned herself into the queen of female talk show hosts because not since Oprah Winfrey have we seen another female talk show host become the queen of daytime TV. But if Ellen were to quit her talk show it would be possible for Kelly Clarkson to take her place on the talk show throne when Rachael Ray and Drew Barrymore and Wendy Williams have competition for top female talk show host. But I think Ellen DeGeneres shows no signs of quitting her talk show because to her fans her show has everything celebrity interviews musical guests games and fun. But when her talk show ends eventually I think she will become a Comeback Kid to sitcoms once again
