What ever happen to him? After Hazel he just disappeared. Any updates on him. Any current photos? There is a photo of an elderly man on Google under his name. But it shows no resemblance to Ray and it appears to be someone else.

Ray in the 1970's?

I read somewhere Ray was considered a Darren Stephens replacement due to his similar features as Dick York. The way Ray's character fought with Hazel. Ray as Darren could have been a nice match up to fight with Endora.

He was on The Guiding Light from 1968 until (I think) his character got killed off in 1971.

I suppose one could put one of his 'Hazel' pics in one of those 'age progression' computerized deals- and see how it compares to any recent pics with older men having his name!

He couldn't have done any worse than Dick Sargent. That said (and I think Fulmer was a good actor) I don't think he could have made up for the loss of York. From everything I've read and seen on this site Montgomery preferred Sargent's portrayal (it was the audience that was unhappy).

I'm awfully surprised to learn that Ray Fulmer (https://glamourfame.com/ray-fulmers-soaring-bank-balance-and-net-worth) as of now, doesn't have a Wikipedia article. He as far as I know, is still alive and he's presently 88 years old. But looking at his IMDb profile (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0298435/), after Hazel (http://cultureshark.blogspot.com/2011/04/shocking-final-season-of-hazel.html) ended in 1966, he didn't land another acting gig for another eight years. And after his stint on Somerset in 1974, he more or else, retired from the entertainment industry. Ray Fulmer's last real acting gig was a voice-over part on The New WKRP in Cincinnati. He overall, only has about eight credits on IMDb (including a couple of soaps). That's simply highly unusual for someone who was a lead on a hit comedy.

Raymond Stover Fulmer, aka Ray Fulmer, is a prominent figure in the American showbiz sector, thanks to his massive legacy in numerous movies and television shows.

Massive legacy! Are we talking about the same Ray Fulmer or is their another one in a parallel universe?

He has a short interview from about 2006 in the book Close-ups by Eddie Lucas.

He would have been better than Sargent, but I don't think Elizabeth Montgomery wanted a stronger actor in that role anymore.

TMC:

"after Hazel ended in 1966, he didn't land another acting gig for another eight years".

This information is incorrect, as poster i29u indicated he was in the Guiding Light two years after Hazel went off the air and was part of the soap opera for several years.

When was the last time you saw a lead in a major network series be billed as "introducing?" I mean, in that last season, they gave the lead male role to a complete unknown, who basically disappeared after the show got axed.

I think that this looks like him (Musketeer hat) in a play in 2000:

Edit: Theater in Los Angeles. Fulmer was in a lead role, in a play that had premiered on Broadway five years before:

So it seems he was still a working actor as of 2000.

Congratulations to Ray Fulmer, now 90 years of age! Born Feb. 17, 1933.

He would be one of the few actors alive from the show, if not the only. I think Lynn Borden died a few years ago.

In regard to a comment made a few posts back, there are many actors I've tried to search on Wikipedia, to no avail. Certainly not unique to Ray Fulmer.

Ray Fulmer finally has a Wikipedia article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Fulmer) in his name. It was created in August 2021.

The only regulars or semi-regulars still alive are all from the last season- Fulmer, 90, Charles Bateman, 92, Julia Benjamin (she turns 66 next Tuesday) and Ann Jillian(n) (she turned 73 three weeks ago).

Julia Benjamin, who played Steve & Barbara's daughter Suzie, is also still living but retired from acting. She was a guest on Stu Shostak's www.stusshow.com years ago, as was child actor Pat Cardi, who played Harold's friend, Jeff Williams, in Season 5. Charles Bateman, who played Jeff's dad, is also still living and 93 years old now, at least according to all online references that I've seen.

It definitely isn't him. I did a reverse image search.

First of all let's get this clear:

1. Dick Sargent was the original choice to play Darrin in 1963 but couldn't because of contractual obligations to Universal (Bewitched was Screen Gems)
2. People have a tendency to only wanna identify with the first actor they see and any change made will never be accepted by most audiences because people don't like change.
3. Ray Fulmer and Dick Sargent weren't bug-eyed freaked-out men running around the house screaming and flailing the way Dick York did. They both stood their ground no matter how wrong they may or may not have been in their respective episode situations.
4. Elizabeth was tired of Dick York leering at her on set, she never liked him, he was costing the studio money, and made the entire staff have to prepare two entirely separate scripts by 1968 because they never knew if Dick York was gonna make it through the weeks of shooting or not.

Three websites (Wikipedia, IMDb, and Wikipedia's source to claim he died, Forever Missed) say he died in 2013, but this site (https://glamourfame.com/ray-fulmers-soaring-bank-balance-and-net-worth) provided by poster Zoneboy in an earlier post says he's in his 80s and living a secretive lifestyle.

There is no obituary online, so as far as I can tell, he's still alive. The Forever Missed site, whatever that is, has no source to prove his death.
