A judge ruled that prosecutors had offered enough evidence for the case against the former That '70s Show star to go to trial after a preliminary hearing earlier this week in which all three women testified.

The judge in Danny Masterson's rape trial declared a mistrial (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/danny-mastersons-rape-trial-mistrial-1235264683/) Wednesday after jurors said they were unable to reach a decision on the actor's innocence or guilt. The jury deadlocked after hearing weeks of testimony from three women who accused Masterson of raping them and others who corroborated their accounts.
Yong Fang 12-01-2022, 05:25 AM He was my favorite character of "the kids" on That 70's Show (Kitty and Red were the best characters overall).
These charges are OLD, from about twenty years ago (from 2001 to 2003) and NOW these (so called and might be) victims have come forward? After twenty years, what compelling evidence do they have? Why now?
I guess one good thing coming from this is that Masterson probably isnt giving any more money to the Church of Scientology where he is a "member". Why anyone would support these evil crooks is way beyond me.
Danny Masterson will face a RETRIAL on three counts of rape at Hollywood Hills home (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11619749/That-70s-star-Danny-Masterson-face-RETRIAL-three-counts-rape.html)
Danny Masterson is charged with three counts of rape between 2001 and 2003
LA District Attorney's office has announced that the star will face a retrial
Jurors in his original trial were 'deadlocked' on all of the charges in November
He will face another jury in March, with the judge dismissing a defense motion
GentlemanJim 01-11-2023, 12:41 PM It would be interesting, IMO, if they limited the ability to collect monetary damages to cases filed within a year of the (alleged) event. Just to see how that might change the landscape.
For those who truly believe they were wronged and the perp deserves punishment....fine....don't close that opportunity. But remove the potential to profit from the ordeal. See if the 20 year old cases persist. My suspicion is not.
I suspect we've all had "morning after" regrets.....But enabling people to monetize that for gain simply because the "other" was somebody.....smacks of the world's oldest profession, IMO
Ashton Kutcher Wants That '70s Show Costar Danny Masterson to Be 'Innocent' in Ongoing Rape Trial (https://people.com/tv/ashton-kutcher-wants-danny-masterson-to-be-innocent-ongoing-rape-trial/)
"I'm not the judge. I'm not the jury. I'm not the DA. I'm not the victim. And I'm not the accused. And so, in that case, I don't have a space to comment." he told Esquire. "I just don't know."
Kutcher revealed that he wants Masterson "to be found innocent of the charges brought against him" while also sharing his support for the victims of abuse, saying, "I wholesale feel for anybody who feels like they were violated in any way."
In December, Masterson's rape trial was declared a mistrial after the jury said they were unable to reach a verdict on any of the three criminal charges Masterson faced.
After the mistrial was declared, two of the women who testified in the trial spoke out, saying in part: "We are obviously disappointed that, at least for the time being, Daniel Masterson has evaded criminal accountability for his deplorable acts. However, we are collectively resolved to continue our fight for justice, including in civil court, where we have alleged that Mr. Masterson, along with the Church of Scientology, its leader David Miscavige, and others conspired to systematically stalk, harass, and intimidate us when we sought to shed light on Mr. Masterson's actions."
A retrial date was set for March 27, 2023, and Masterson will remain free on bail of $3.3 million, per Deadline (https://deadline.com/2023/01/ashton-kutcher-wants-danny-masterson-to-be-found-innocent-of-rape-charges-1235245556/).
Actor Danny Masterson is found GUILTY of drugging and raping two women in retrial after first ended in deadlocked jury: Now faces life in prison (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12100459/Danny-Masterson-GUILTY-rape.html)
A jury found Danny Masterson guilty (https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/danny-masterson-convinced-of-rape-face-30-years-in-prison.5279626/) on two of three rape counts (https://officialfan.proboards.com/thread/601430/danny-masterson-arrested-faces-prison?page=2) on Wednesday. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on a third rape charge against him. A judge ordered he be taken into custody and scheduled a hearing for August 4. His wife, actress Bijou Phillips - who had been at his side throughout the four-week trial at criminal court in downtown Los Angeles - burst out crying as the jury gave the verdicts. The Scientologist, 47, was on trial for rape for a second time after his first ended in a mistrial in December, with a jury deadlocked on all counts.

In the past, Ashton Kutcher has been quick to opine on a number of subjects, like politics, the Joe Paterno controversy at Penn State University and the death of George Floyd.
Now, Mr. Kutcher is opining on the trial of Danny Masterson, his former “That ‘70s Show” castmate. I suppose the unfailing self-effacing Mr. Kutcher somehow believes that America is extremely anxious to hear his comments on virtually everything under the sun.
You would think that actress Mika Kunis, Mrs. Ashton Kutcher, would tell her loquacious husband for once in his life, to just shut the “expletive-deleted” up!
Please, Mr. Kutcher, do all of America a BIG favor and emulate the exact speech patterns of Darryl and Darryl on the classic tv comedy, “Newhart.”

I'm glad he was found guilty. Does anyone know which charge was not proven against him? As for the Church of Scientology, they are a menace, and I would quote John 14: 6 to anyone who approached me from that organization.
Yong Fang 06-04-2023, 02:24 PM I will say I have not that deeply into this story but the rape allegations are over twenty years old. What evidence do they have of this? What evidence can they have except for their word? I believe this was when he was in Scientology, him and the accusers and Scientology threatened the accusers, which probably added weight to the accusations at hand. But I as a juror, need physical proof of some kind before I vote guilty to put someone in prison for decades.
Still, I don’t get people like Cosby, Weinstien or Masterson having to drug women in order to have sex with them. Cosby and Wienstien has millions of dollars and could have any sex partner they want to do what they wanted them to do. Masterson has the added bonus of being young and handsome.

They wanted control of their victims, I assume with some kind of date rape drug. They used women as commodities and not human beings. You have a low opinion of women if you think they all react in that way.
Dude111 06-04-2023, 04:35 PM Its sad they do this......
MRPITT 06-04-2023, 06:21 PM I always thought he was guilty based on testimony and the facts of the case and am glad he has to answer for his crimes.

Well maybe if others quit focusing on his opinion and asking him for it, we wouldn’t hear about it yet here we are. The focus should be on the guilty parties heinous crimes or the victims and their well being. Not Ashton Or Mila.
