Since TV Land is getting on my nerves with skipping I Love Lucy episodes, tell me what episode 22(Fred and Ethel Fight) was like. Did anything noteable happen? What did the ending theme music sound like in detail? I love that ending theme with that one high note in the middle. Was it that ending theme? I seen only half of this episode back when Nick at Nite was airing shows they were supposed to last summer. I fell asleep during the first ten minutes.

Fred and Ethel were fighting because Ethel said Fred's mother looked like a gopher. Ethel left Fred and was staying somewhere else, and Lucy had each of them over to dinner, but neither of them knew the other was coming, but Lucy get's them to apologize, and right after, Lucy and Ricky get into a fight, and I think Fred and Ethel get them back to gether, and I think they get into another fight, but I'm not sure about that part, it's been a while since i've seen that episode.

You are not alone! I'm still waiting to see that one. It is so wierd that you single out "Fred and Ethel Fight", because that is the only episode that I've never seen out of the entire series, with the exception of one the hour episodes. I too hate that TV Land skips episodes and sometimes goes out of order.

bktFan is basically correct, but when Lucy gets Fred and Ethel together in her apartment, they cannot remember how their fight started, but going over the insults they smacked, Fred says Ethel said his mother looked like a weasel. Lucy told Ethel to apologize, Ethel thought for a second, then said to Fred, "I'm sorry your mother looks like a weasel!"

Anyway, Fred & Ethel do make up, then Lucy and Ricky resume a previous fight in which both claimed to have been the one who "gave in" first to end it. Lucy, with Ethel's help, wraps herself in a full body cast, intending to tell Ricky she was in an accident (to get him to feel sorry for her and forget he's mad), and Fred gives Ricky the idea of "pretending to have a fire" in the building where he would 'save' Lucy to end their beef. So Ricky and Fred blow smoke into the bedroom where Lucy is in her bodycast, and she tries tying sheets together to escape out the window, but she forgets to secure the sheets to anything in the room, so she falls down to the awning. Ricky finds her and admits he and Fred staged the 'fire,' and she admits her cast was only a ploy, too. But at the conclusion, Fred comes into the apartment to make sure Lucy is alright, then he says when Ethel found out staging the fire was his idea she got mad and went home to her mother.

Why did it take so long for Tv Land to show it? My friend has a beef with TV Land because of all the skipping around. He is recording 'The Munsters' from the channel and he has every single episode except for one. He says that they skip it every single time.

They also skip an episode of Leave it to Beaver where Eddie and Wally tie something to the front of Lumpy's car and when Lumpy drives off, the front of the car comes off too.

It's a mystery why they don't show every episode.

Finally, I have won! I hope, since Perfect Strangers is joing the line up that ILL goes to a more decent time. Hopefully, my local UPN affiliate can smarten up and show ILL at the rihgt time.

It is a mystery because I know it isn't because they just don't have the episode, because I have seen this particular ep of Lucy and I have also seen the ep of Leave it to Beaver you mentioned, TVLand is the only station I have that shows these shows so I had to have seen it there. I also noticed that sometimes they show all of the episodes, but they are out of order. But I guess every TV Network has its problems, so I don't have a beef with them. They may not be perfect but they show I Love Lucy and Leave it to Beaver, my two favorite shows so I have no problem with them.

Hi all!

I have not had a problem finding this episode (I found it on N@N in '99) and I know where it is now. It has the heart instead of the stupid TVLand-redone "original" opening. I don'tremember the ending segue, though. sorry.

cubsfan, you said that ILL airs on your UPN station... we are currently doing a trade, and I would trade for your UPN-aired episodes of ILL, or I would appreciate it if you would tape them for me... it seems like every UPN station has the rights to one classic show.... in my case, it's Andy Griffith.

If anyone wants/needs a copy of ep. 22, let me know at bast553@yahoo.com, and I will trade or sell you a copy.

Thanks!

Yeah, "Herman's Peace Offering". I don't think Nick-at-Nite or TV Land ever aired it. For some reason they consider it too "violent"

I guess N@N executives are obsessed with those darn boybands and their songs. Not much of a guess why they called it "Violent," but it is just a guess.

I don't why TV Land always skips episodes of their shows. I find it to be aggravaiting (sp?). A particular episode of I Love Lucy called "Fred and Ethel Fight" gets skip quite frequently but in the current rotation it didn't. They finally aired it (for the FIRST time)! GO TV Land! Now all they need to do is air the show is episode order as in episode 1 to episode 179 with no skips.

Networks show the shows out of order to discourage taping. JMO
I get angry w/ UPN most of all b/c they really chop up I Love Lucy. In the Amateur Hour episode #30,they totally cut out the song Ricky sings. (which happens to be one of my favorite Lucy songs.) :D

I love the song Ricky sings in "The Amateur Hour" too. It's called (I think) "I'm breaking my back putting up a front for you".
