Do you notice in the early Partridge Family years David's voice sounds different? I am assuming its either because he was younger and his voiced changed? or Wes Ferrell tweaked his voice to sound younger and then eventually decided to let his natural voice be recorded?
A perfect example is him singing Rollercoaster in the later years.

I am watching the first season of the show now and Dave's acting is different. And even the way he talks is different. I guess Keith is more serious early on and then he gets sillier and more comedic as the series goes on. Anyone else notice this?

Read some of the most recent past posts.
They should explain it.

When they first started the show, they had him lip-synch to a studio performer's voice but then they let him actually sing. What's weird is that there's one song in which Mr. Cassidy started out lip-syching to that voice, then sang in his own voice and then went BACK to lip-syching to the studio performer's voice. Did they thing the audience would believe that Mr. Cassidy had two entirely different sounding voices? LOL

Interesting, because by 1974 David Cassidy had a full blown, and fairly successful, solo career going. I remember this well because I had a girlfriend i Summer 1974 who was nuts over his solo albums.

Yes, by the Summer of 1974, Mr. Cassidy had become a full-fledged singing star (and had become one within the first year of the show). However, he quickly discovered that his superstardom didn't coast along for long once PF bit the dust- and would wind up sleeping on a pal's couch before the first of many attempted comebacks!
