I'm watching through the series for the first time, currently on season 4, and I find myself so bored by any episode that centers on her dating life. The workplace ones are pretty mediocre as well. The only one I kind of enjoyed is the one about the epileptic girl, but only because it was so bizarre to imagine epilepsy as some sort of taboo subject.

Also, I think I've only seen like 2 episodes with Francine, but I'm just scratching my head wondering what's coming up. I know she's in a handful of episodes, but the "workplace rival" is such a one-note character, I can't say I'm looking forward to more of her.

The worst one is the one where it’s her birthday and she spends part of the episode in her bedroom giving herself a pep talk in the mirror (calling herself “kiddo”). My dad pretty much banned the show from our house after that one.

That falls in the category of " It was so bad it was good" ! Very laughable , not because it was a funny episode , but because it was so pathetically ridicules!:D

That was one of my least favorite episodes too.

Oh, god. I remember that mess. Now I KNOW One Day At A Time is one of my least favorite Norman Lear sitcoms.

The first ep.today was really ridicules! A mistake on Ann's phone bill, she was very overcharged ! 4,000 dollars ! As if that would really happen ! And when she complained to the phone company they didn't correct it !Like seriously ? A phone bill could be THAT much ? Esp.in 1975, 4,000 dollars was a lot of money!

Than Ann writes to the president of the US, and the letter was taken as a threat, and by coincidence Gerald Ford was visiting Indianapolis at this EXACT same time !:D

The ep.had some funny moments but it really was a ridicules premise ! Very bizarre , whoever wrote this ep. was high on some strong drugs I think!:lol:

That’d be number two, but overall ‘City Hall’ is funnier. Plus it has that slut Barbara Cooper with a Playgirl magazine*

*That last sentence is an inside joke. Anyone reading this, if you don’t get it, please don’t slam me

Another good one is when Julie is dating the college guy (Robbie Benson) who falls for Ann. Ann was such a trollop in that episode. She really needed to be smacked!

The best four parter in the WHOLE series. Chuck’s father also played Simpson on Gimme A Break! and Cindy’s jackass of a father on Good Times.

That was Robby Benson? I never realized that.

Yeah, and that was the funny part. Robby Benson was really popular in the early to mid 70's, a heartthrob ! Farfetched that they picked a good looking popular actor to portray a kid that totally thought Ann was hot stuff, :D:rolleyes: he could have gotten any girl he wanted back than ! It was good for ratings back than I'm sure ! ;)

He played dumb in everything he was in. He was a real dumb jackass in One Day At A Time and Good Times. I was so glad when Barbara told him off for insulting her mother. He was a little better on Gimme A Break! though.
