I think that most people know that The Flintstones (https://www.looper.com/167179/things-only-adults-notice-in-the-flintstones/) was inspired by The Honeymooners, which quite infamously, had recurring bit about Ralph Kramden, (although only in hyperbole) threatening his wife Alice. The Flintstones unlike The Honeymooners was apparently a bit more of an equal opportunity offender when it comes to domestic abuse. Like when Fred did something that Wilma didn’t like — which was often — she’d clock him in the head. Didn't Wilma at least once, bonk Fred over the head with a frying pan?
