I've noticed on this show and with the millionaires on other shows like Gilligan's Island... Mrs Drysdale and Lovey Howell like the things that money buys, like jewelry, mink stoles, etc... whereas the husbands, Mr. Drysdale and Mr. Howell just seem to love the money itself, just the actual paper. Mr Drysdale and Mr Howell hated to buy anything because they didn't wanna part with the actual money... Makes me wonder if they don't want anything the money can buy, what is the point really in being so in love with a bunch of bills?

Maybe they're just insecure about spending the money because of a deep seated fear that they could lose it? Maybe they like the status that the money brings, maybe it makes them feel superior to others?

Mr. Drysdale and Mr. Howell just seem to love the money itself, just the actual paper.


Yes. I'd even take it a little step further, and say Howell actually enjoys having the money while Drysdale doesn't seem to draw pleasure from it.
