After quite a few phone calls I have found out the following....
1) The Wonder Years is owned by.....FOX.
IF THERE IS ANY HOPE OF A DVD SET OF THE ENTIRE SERIES
FOX IS WHO WE HAVE TO CONVINCE.
I will try to find out exactly who to contact.
2) Fox sold television distribution rights to Warner, who in turn
sold television rights to ABC Family.
IF THERE IS ANY HOPE OF THE SERIES COMING BACK TO TV
WE MUST CONVINCE ABC FAMILY. (Until their contract expires)
I was very fortunate to speak to a very nice lady who used to
work for New World Entertainment (who originally owned the
show).
She said having a show like the Wonder Years on a complete
DVD set is very difficult because of the period music on each
episode. Royalties would have to be paid to the artist for each
copy. The key would be to FLOOD Fox with e-mails and convince
them that they would sell alot of copies......
I did find out that Fox has a television distribution department,
but I don't know if the decision is made by those individuals.
I will contunue to dig, but the bottom line is that we need to
fight hard for this great show......it deserves to be on DVD...
We also need to get the series back on ABC Family.
We all need to e-mail and make a difference. Thanks...
