The late Miss Howland seems to have been a very quiet and serious performer who had worked steadily for about 20 years before 'Alice' but didn't do much of anything after it.

Does anyone know whether Miss Howland got along with Miss Lavin and/or Miss Holliday/ Miss Ladd,etc. during their time on the show or did she just show up, do her work but stay out of everyone else's way as best she could? Somehow, I think she might have gotten along best with Miss Holliday who was evidently a very professional but surprisingly quiet person off-camera.

Regardless, it seems as though Miss Howland kept her own counsel (at least didn't spill it to the rags) re who might have been right/wrong re whatever happened with Miss Lavin and the other.

I don't think Linda considered Beth a threat to her stardom on Alice.
