Sean Snow 07-06-2002, 12:47 PM Yay This is great! I haven't seen "Chico and the Man" in a while, I've watched the ones I have on tape a lot so it's great that they'll be airing one on TV Land. :)

Karen64 07-06-2002, 09:49 PM Alright! Mmmm..I wonder what episode it will be and what one actor played 2 roles... I must not have that one on tape.
Cheryl Harrell 07-07-2002, 07:21 AM I hope it is a Freddie one! The man who played the banker also played Dr Spanola. There was another dr in earlier episodes. THe man who played Ed's friend Rudy was a customer in the first episode. Had the red mustang...
Kriz I love the photo you attached!!! it's great I will be trying to send you the promised photo but i have been sick but i haven't forgotten
Joy
Karen64 07-08-2002, 12:08 AM For awhile, I thought the "one actor two roles" meant that one person played two roles in the same show (like Patty Duke playing 2 cousins, or on "I Dream of Jeanie", where Barbara Eden played both Jeanie and her snotty sister) For awhile, I thought I must have missed an episode (maybe where Freddie played both Chico and an evil relative!)
I did recognize some actors coming back and playing different roles sometimes in later episodes...
hue_mee 07-08-2002, 02:29 PM I am so thrilled to see that TVLand will air an episode of Chico and the man again! I'm curious to wonder which one!!!!
Cheryl Harrell 07-08-2002, 03:17 PM I wonder if they are gonna show a CHICO episodes & then a RAUL one cuz... Sometimes Raul is referred to as the new Chico & Ed told him "You are all Chicos to me"...

Well, I guess my hoping and praying to see "Chico and the Man" finally paid off for me. :happyface
Pavan 07-12-2002, 03:37 PM I'll have the episode info next week or so. One episode will air at 3:30pm on Sunday August 11th on a TV Land Box Set.
Cheryl Harrell 07-13-2002, 02:28 AM It had better be a Chico episode. We miss the show so much... :(
I need a hankie too. They started scrambling TVLAND on the big satellite dishes & we can't get them anymore on our big dish. They were my favorite channel too... :crying:
Pavan 07-16-2002, 11:23 AM Sunday August 11th Box Set:
3:00PM Brady Bunch #94 "You're Never Too Old"
Robert Reed and Florence Henderson play dual roles as Mike and Carol's grandparents. When Grandma Hutchins comes to visit, the Brady kids decide to keep her around by matching her up with Grandpa Brady. The lady is too energetic for grandpa and he has no interest in a romance.
3:30PM Chico & The Man #65 "Uncle Sonny"
Uncle Sonny (played by Jack Albertson) visits the garage while Ed is away. He creates havoc for Louie and Della when he throws an all girl party and his wife shows up for reconciliation.
4:00PM Gilligan's Island #70 "Gilligan Vs. Gilligan"
Gilligan is suspected as the culprit behind the disappearance of Mary Ann's freshly baked pie. He is seen licking the plate clean, but insists a stranger ate the pie.
4:30PM Gilligan's Island #82 "All About Eva"
The castaways discover a beached boat in excellent condition. Finding only a woman's shoe prints in the sand, the castaways assume there's a female visitor hiding on the island.

Luckymama58 07-16-2002, 11:34 AM I remember this episode, it was a very stupid premise IMHO. And no Freddie!!!!! :crying:
TVLand is run by a bunch of...... (I think I should stop before I get into trouble!)
Cheryl Harrell 07-16-2002, 03:29 PM I remember this episode. It was good & I liked the non-Freddie episodes since I liked the show but I don't like them as well as the Freddie ones. The Freddie ones are best. Nothing could ever take the place of Freddie. Man, this makes me mad. Mad!
TVLAND has gotten sooo stupid lately. I have a big satellite dish & when TVLAND came out I wanted it so bad. I fianlly discovered it on my big dish & loved it. I had such fun watching GREEN ACRES, THAT GIRL, ANDY GRIFFITH, PETTICOAT JUNCTION, CATM & others.
Then they started to go downhill & it got worse. First CATM was moved to 5 am. Then they later started scrambling their signal & those of us who had old big dishes & no descrambler for them couldn't get them anymore. They forgot it's hard to get/find a descrambler for a big dish. They claimed it was so they could have a digital signal & be able to have a West Coast feed but I suspect that's a line of bull. I suspect they started doing that scrambling mess just so we'd have to pay to get their channel. Money hungry tv LOL! In order to watch the last Freddie/CATM epsiodes before they took it off I had to tune in the scrambled signal & watch Freddie & Co looking all scrambled looking. Then they took the show off! & It hadn't even been on a year!
They refused to put the MONKEES back on. They finally put them back on YAY! But they are not only on at a weird hr of the morning (I can't go to my parents house at 1:30 am to watch tv LOL! So I have to miss the show.) & Now they are gonna take the MONKEES off after being on for only 2 months & replace it with SQUARE PEGS. SQUARE PEGS?
One bright spot is they are putting WELCOME BACK KOTTER back on but I bet it ain't for long LOL!
I still love TVLAND as they show some great shows but they need to get their act back together. To regain their former glory they need to stop scrambling their signals, put CATM back on, play a Chico episode along with the UNCLE SONNY episode, keep the Monkees on & keep WELCOME BACK KOTTER on, & quite taking shows off so fast, quit editing stuff outta the shows & quit the credit crunching... :(
I suspect they have a case of too many shows & so little time to show them. They could start a TVLAND 2 channel. That's a great idea!
Sorry to vent so but this latest doing of theirs towards CATM plus their cancelling of the show & the Monkees & the scrambling of their signal has me sooo upset...
C'mon TVLAND, let's get your act together! :)
I don't know why if they wanted to do duel roles they don't air the one called the invention where Ed pretends to be a rich tycoon who wants to buy the brown bike balencer that way it would fit in the box set and we could still see Freddie:(
