Simpsons Bug Squad (https://www.thedreamcastjunkyard.co.uk/2020/12/the-simpsons-bug-squad-previously.html) appeared to be a game where you play a roach that roams through the Simpson residence.

I wonder where the game developers was going with this? Matt Groening is really strict about using the Simpsons' as a springboard for other character spin-off properties.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Star_Is_Burns

"Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons has heavily criticized the episode, feeling that it was just an advertisement for The Critic, and that people would incorrectly associate the show with him. When he was unsuccessful in getting the program pulled, he had his name removed from the credits and went public with his concerns, openly criticizing James L. Brooks."

So I wonder if it was just a tech demo to demonstrate the engines 3D cell shading capability and never meant to be a real Simpsons' game.
