Recently I was glancing through an old TV Guide(late 70s) and noticed WMC-TV in Memphis aired Phil Donahue instead of NBC Hollywood Squares and Wheel of Fortune. BUT, they joined network programming an hour later with Knockout & To Say the Least. HS and WoF were highly rated and the others quickly cancelled failures. Strange choices to preempt. So I'm curious if any other locals chose syndicated over highly rated network product. These were the days when Phil and Dinah were the hot talkers.
