View Full Version : Do you think there will ever be a Facts of Life reboot? 80s Dude 12-03-2020, 02:01 PM Saved by the Bell got a reboot? Do you think Facts of Life will ever get one? valentina warner 12-03-2020, 06:46 PM By reboot, do you mean a remake or what? If so, i hope not! (LISA, NANCY, FELICE, JULIE PIE, JULIE HADDOCK, MOLLY,MINDY and KIM are unique and could never be replaced lol!) 80s Dude 12-03-2020, 06:53 PM By reboot, do you mean a remake or what? If so, i hope not! (LISA, NANCY, FELICE, JULIE PIE, JULIE HADDOCK, MOLLY,MINDY and KIM are unique and could never be replaced lol!) A remake like Saved by the Bell is now. Only one series reboot was more successful than the original and that was Hawaii 5-0. valentina warner 12-03-2020, 07:00 PM A remake like Saved by the Bell is now. Well in that case, i definitely DON'T want to see a reboot on FOL: it would ruin the memory i so fondly have, and besides i don't think it'd be a success without CHARLOTTE RAE either lol! :nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono::nonono: Impressions 12-03-2020, 10:21 PM Wasn't Leonard DiCaprio going to reboot the show with an all-new cast? Or was that a joke? I can't see any of the girls returning to do a reboot. I'm sure they're tired AF (Nancy and Mindy, specifically) of the show at this point. RetroGuy2000 12-04-2020, 12:44 AM Wasn't Leonard DiCaprio going to reboot the show with an all-new cast? Yes, Leo and Jessica Biel. I can't see any of the girls returning to do a reboot. I'm sure they're tired AF (Nancy and Mindy, specifically) of the show at this point. Lisa, Kim, or Julie Pie would do it, I bet. 80s Dude 12-04-2020, 08:19 AM Yes, Leo and Jessica Biel. Lisa, Kim, or Julie Pie would do it, I bet. Both Lisa and Kim are contractually obligated to other shows currently. Lisa has Collector's Call and Kim has a new series with Wanda Sykes that was announced just days before things were cancelled because of the virus. Back in the 1980s, stars were generally bound to one TV show, though they could make guest appearances on other shows. That is not the case today, and stars are free to appear on multiple TV series, and frequently do. I'm not stating that such a FOL reboot would ever happen. Just stating that "contractually obligated to another show" doesn't mean what it meant decades ago. valentina warner 12-04-2020, 03:45 PM I absolutely agree with Retro: LISA, KIM and JULIE PIE would definitely go for it! (they seem to be more laid back than NANCY MCKEON, and they also cherish more the FOL nostalgia, being the 'Pilot' originally) RetroGuy2000 12-04-2020, 04:16 PM I absolutely agree with Retro: LISA, KIM and JULIE PIE would definitely go for it! (they seem to be more laid back than NANCY MCKEON, and they also cherish more the FOL nostalgia, being the 'Pilot' originally) I don't know that Julie Pie would be asked, as she, for example, wasn't asked to appear in the 2001 reunion. However, if she were asked, I imagine her response would be much like her "The Little Chill" response: "What time do you need me?" :) Impressions 12-05-2020, 03:05 PM I don't know that Julie Pie would be asked, as she, for example, wasn't asked to appear in the 2001 reunion. However, if she were asked, I imagine her response would be much like her "The Little Chill" response: "What time do you need me?" :) The Reunion Movie was an abomination. I don't even consider it FOL canon. I'd love to see The Facts of Life return. Make one of the "Lost Girls" the new headmaster, dietician, or housemothers (or combination of all). Not all core four need to be in the show. I can see it returning a la Fuller House on Netflix. RetroGuy2000 12-05-2020, 03:42 PM  The Reunion Movie was an abomination. I don't even consider it FOL canon. I definitely had my own problems with it, too. I honestly don't know why you'd go to the trouble of having a reunion without the iconic sets. No one watches FOL for cruise ships. I did love seeing their recreation of the Eastland Cafeteria, but it was so brief. No Lost Girls, no Jo, No Mr. Bradley, no Andy, Pippa, Beverly Ann. So what was the point? We see just four people, one of whom refuses to be called the name we knew her as. It's not set in the locales we knew, so everything feels weird. And Jo Junior was stupid. I'd love to see The Facts of Life return. Make one of the "Lost Girls" the new headmaster, dietician, or housemothers (or combination of all). Not all core four need to be in the show. I would watch that! And I agree that not all of the Core Four need to be there. Hell, you couldn't drag Nancy McKeon onto the set there if you tried. I can see it returning a la Fuller House on Netflix. Yes. Fuller House was a huge hit, and the producers knew exactly what they were doing: the set, the cast, the scripts. That was really well done. |
