Evidently the suspender outfits Molly wore on the Facts of Life carried over off screen.

Molly with her mother.

MOLLY looks adorable! (i really wish we could have seen more of her in the later seasons lol)

And like you said Retro: the 'New girl' episode doesn't count, cos MOLLY definitely wasn't herself!!!!

Looks like some kind of bar. There is a guy sitting at the bar counter on the left side of the picture.

Could be. But what was Molly doing in a bar? (I know, I know: Eastland girls enjoy their "Miller Time"! )

Kids, can be in a bar, as long as they are not served alcohol, especially if they serve food.

Depends on the state/province. Looks like it's legal in New York (https://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/24/nyregion/thecity/24fyi.html) and illegal in California (https://www.calrest.org/customers/minors-and-bars-basics) to be seated at the bar.

Maybe Molly's contract was worked out so that she was allowed to take any of her wardrobe from the show home with her, a la Rue McClanahan on "The Golden Girls"!

After all, who wouldn't want 1979 Molly Parker suspenders??? ;)

That dump looks tres magnifique!

Hahaha!

Molly with her mother.

It's just poetic license with the joke. ;) Often when I see or hear about "three" of something, or about Molly Ringwald, or her mom, I'll say that line out loud to myself in my quivering Mrs. Garrett impersonation.

Molly did wear overalls for several episodes. "The Return of Mr. Garrett", "Molly's Holiday", and "Dope". Not sure if they were the fashion of the times for girls her age. Never saw Tootie wear them.

I think suspenders were the fashion for children back then: remember that LISA, FELICE and both JULIES were already teenagers, whereas MOLLY was still a kid....
