Phoebe Waller-Bridge's Fleabag took the world by storm when it released on Amazon Prime, garnering multiple award nominations and wins across the board. In particular, praise was directed towards the grippingly dark screenplay and the extraordinary performance delivered by Olivia Colman.
A US version of Fleabag would be a monumental achievement, if such a thing were possible, given the distinctly British overtones all across the show. However, there is a chance for success given the right actors to fill the roles, considering not only their individual talents but also how seamlessly they blend together. Martin, Claire's husband, is obviously out because he's already American.
