In season 3, episode 11 "Convicts at Large", I am amazed with the contrast between the Jean Carson character "Naomi" vs her more familiar role as Fun Girl "Daphne".

Between the make-up, the clothes, and the demeanor, it's almost a challenge to believe they are the same actor.

In fact, if it wasn't for the unrelenting over-play of this series by TVLand, I likely never would have caught this.

Speaking of the over-play, I have gotten so familiar with this series over the past 6 months, that I could almost recite the lines of every character from every episode, from memory.

Despite this familiarity, it still cracks me up everytime Floyd mockingly calls Barney "AL". The man is a comedic genius

Wonderful episodes and acting. Seeing Floyd's headline I wonder how much the Mayberry paper had different names throughout the series?

Jean Carson played mob maul, Cassie in "The Phenix City Story", which was a little of both "Naomi" and "Daphne". I think she was also in the first Walking Tall" movie as either a similar or the same character.

I just enjoyed watching Jean Carson in an episode of the Twilight Zone titled "A most unusual Camera"....again playing a woman having more physical assets than common sense.

It must get discouraging being typecast as brainless chunks of meat, but for anyone not blessed with good looks, it's likely hard to sympathize?

Perhaps as Liberace was fond of saying when asked of how he copes with the incessant criticism: "I cry all the way to the bank"?
