The CBS daytime show now has half the viewership of its ABC rival, or 1.5 million to The View's 3 million. "The View has been growing at a huge rate during the COVID lockdown, and The Talk is literally the lowest-rated show in the whole CBS lineup," a source tells Page Six. "At one point, The Talk and The View were only 30,000 viewers apart … Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood’s plan of getting rid of Marie Osmond was clearly a mistake in terms of ratings and number of viewers.” Page Six adds that "the CBS insider said the rotating host roster — which includes Amanda Kloots, Rumer Willis and Elaine Welteroth, who is stepping in to replace Eve — has not been delivering numbers, leaving producers and executives 'panicked and frustrated.'"

Here's CBS with daytime hits the Price is Right, The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and Let's Make a Deal and they are saddled with the low rated show The Talk. To me, if ratings don't show any sign of increase, the network should cancel the show and consider one of three options:

1. Replace The Talk with a game show. It would give Let's Make a Deal a quality lead in depending on the show that replaces The Talk.

2. Move Let's Make a Deal into The Talk's timeslot and return the 3 PM ET slot to local affiliates.

3. CBS could air a news show with the title CBS News This Afternoon. It would be similar to their morning show.

Those are three possibilities to save a failing time slot.

I really hope they replace The Talk with a couple of game shows. (Revivals of Super Password and Whew! would be my choices.) The fewer judge shows and talk shows on daytime TV, the better.

(likes idea of "game shows" being replacements for this "The Talk" if it were to be cancelled)
