When I have seen Guardians Of The Galaxy I seem to think that Marvel copied Disney's 1991 movie The Rocketeer to make Star Lord's character. Because when you look at it Star Lord and The Rocketeer both wear masks and fly and it seems shocking to me that Marvel did this and I hope Disney didn't file a lawsuit before buying Marvel for doing this

Iron Man flies and wears a suit similar to Rocketeer and that wasn't a lawsuit.

Star Lord has been around since 1976.
The Rocketeer is an homage to the serials of the 1930s-50s, and the look of The Rocketeer is based on the 1949 serial King Of The Rocket Men which featured a man in a metal helmet who also flew.

Star Lord does use his rocket boot attachments in the first movie, the Aero-Rigs (jet packs) aren't used until the second film, they were invented by Rocket Racoon.
