I like the ending to the episode before the last one. That also served as a series finale where they rode off knowing their life was free from Chuck aka God. The final episode was too sad and it was crap that Dean died. I didn't like that. Of the two brothers, he deserved the break more in life to have a happy ending. Dean sacrificed his whole life to protect others. I would have preferred Sam be the one who died and Dean had the ending where he's back with Lisa living a normal life until he dies. I'm really going to miss this show. I followed this show since it first started on The WB 15 years ago. It's weird not having anymore new episodes because it was considered a show that would never die. Now I just have Mom to watch until that ends.

I was so sad when Dean died and then eventually Sam died of old age. They did a great job with Sam's make-up, he really did look old and frail. I guess that means no future of bringing back the show unless the guys get kicked out of heaven.

Jensen said he would be open for a revival down the line. I'm guessing this is how it would happen since they're both in heaven. We know Castiel is out of the empty since Bobby said he helped Jack redo heaven, so he has a way to come back with the brothers. They also could do the revival in a timeline before the last episode took place so nothing's rewritten. Personally I hope they redo the final episode. I didn't want either of them to die. I know some fans wanted that ending, but I think they should have been sent off being hunters or doing their own thing.

Dean would probably have died at an early age of Cirrhosis Of The Liver or a heart attack or stroke from blocked arteries. Sam had a better chance of living a full life to an old age. So I think that it was done right.:D

You're probably right. Remember in The Heroes Journey how Dean had 17 cavities and became lactose intolerant? His lifestyle was catching up to him then without the luck of God. That was a funny episode. Supernatural hands down has the BEST filler episodes of any drama. They do so much comedy or sometimes horror that it's worth the filler.

I too love the comedy relief in some episodes. when Dean had the "Ghost Disease" he was scared of everything. It was hilarious!

Supernatural boss reveals the originally planned series finale ending (https://ew.com/tv/supernatural-original-ending-kansas/)

"Now, we know precisely what was supposed to go down in the first draft of that finale," says Samantha Highfill. "Production designer Jerry Wanek put together a book for the cast (https://insighteditions.com/pages/supernatural15seasons) and crew that is now available to buy, complete with pages and pages of the various sets they built for the long-running series. For that book, (co-showrunner Andrew) Dabb wrote about one of the final sets constructed, which they ultimately didn't get to use: the inside of Harvelle's."
