Zack Morris: Cole Sprouse
In the original, Zack epitomized the typical popular high school boy. He was wild, energetic, womanizing, and often up to shenanigans. He had no interest in doing his schoolwork and was more focused on girls. And he seemed to be getting worse and worse as the series went on.
Today, however, the "cool" popular guy would probably be more like Sprouse's character of Jughead on Riverdale, a dark, brooding, intelligent bad boy. And it would totally be logical to see Sprouse play a reinterpreted version of Zack. Even if Zack remained the same perky, baby-faced character he was, Sprouse has tremendous acting range, and can pull off a head of blonde hair if needed. Even though he's pushing 30, Sprouse has a baby face that would easily make him pass as a high schooler (as he already does on Riverdale).

Jessie Spano: Zendaya
Zendaya may be a massively rising, Emmy-winning star who has aspirations far beyond the sitcom world. But she did work on sitcoms and children's shows before and would totally make a believable Jessie.
Jessie was the uptight, book-smart, confident young woman who lived by the rules and was laser-focused on being smart and successful. Zendaya could really play any character, but we could totally see her as the long-legged, curly-haired beauty with a smart wit.
8
A.C. Slater: K.J. Apa
Another actor from Riverdale, Apa would make a great Slater. On Saved by The Bell, Slater was the typical high school jock who loved working out, playing sports, and ribbing back and forth with his on-again, off-again love Jessie.
Apa spends a lot of time shirtless and punching bags, and faces, on Riverdale, showing off his muscles and six-pack. And while his character on that show has gone darker than he'd ever have to on a sitcom, Apa is talented enough to pull off the fun and quirky role.
7
Samuel "Screech" Powers: Finn Wolfhard
Of course, the idea of an odd, eccentric kid being considered an outcast in high school would never fly today, nor would the way his so-called friends constantly made fun of him. But the idea of a "geek" or nerd" character would be reimagined in a new way.
Think Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard as a less awkward, more book-smart Screech. He might have some weird quirks and pine for a girl just as the real Screech did Lisa. But he wouldn't be bullied nor treated the way Screech was originally on the show.
6
Lisa Turtle: AJ Michalka
Michalka is best known for her role as Lainey on the long-running sitcom The Goldbergs which is, ironically, set in the '80s and '90s. On the show, she plays a popular high school girl who boys fawn over. Especially Barry, the awkward and annoying older brother of the protagonist Adam.
Her character shares some similarities with Lisa, too, including being fairly well off and from a broken family. This might be why it makes total sense that Michalka could have been a shoe-in to play Lisa.
5
Kelly Kapowski: Selena Gomez
Gomez is, of course, a mega pop star. But it's easy to forget that she got her start as a Disney Channel actor when she was just a teenager. A beautiful girl with long, flowing dark hair, it would be easy to position Gomez as the pretty, popular high school cheerleader who had all the boys' attention.
Gomez is no stranger to the teen genre nor sitcoms, so she would make perfect sense in the role.
4
Mr. Richard Belding: Stephen Tobolowsky
Tobolowsky has been in so many shows and movies, that chances are most people recognize his face even if not his name. In fact, he even plays a high school principal on the sitcom The Goldbergs.
His look and general demeanor, however, make this character actor perfect as the odd yet also logical and strict principal Mr. Belding. Richard Belding might not have been a teacher at the school, but the kids arguably learned a lot from him.
3
Max: Jay Baruchel
It would be easy to peg Neil Patrick Harris in this role given that he, too, has a love of magic as Max did on this series as the owner of the café, The Max. But Baruchel seems like a better fit for the overall look and persona of the character.
Baruchel is a hilarious comedic actor and he would be great in the role if it were to take place today. Even though Max only appeared in a total of 20 episodes through the series' run, he always provided some form of comic relief, which is Baruchel's specialty.
2
Tori Scott: Skai Jackson
Scott was Zack's girlfriend during the show's final season, the exact opposite of who his friends might have thought he would have dated. She was more tomboyish than girlish, rode a motorcycle, and wore a leather jacket.
Skai Jackson is an up-and-coming teenage actor who has played a number of versatile characters and might look to a role like this to develop her acting range and test her ability to play someone who might be out of her wheelhouse, especially since the original character wasn't exactly a fan favorite. At just 18 and looking much younger, she'd be a perfect fit for the show and an hungry young actor who would be up for the challenge.
1
Stacey Carosi: Kiernan Shipka
Shipka got her start as Don Draper's daughter Sally on Mad Men then headed up the cast of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. She's used to playing darker, less animated characters than the usual cast on Saved by the Bell.
Stacey Carosi fits this bill as the average teenage girl who turned up her nose at Zack and his beach-going, surfer "dude" friends (until eventually falling for Zack). The 20-year-old Shipka could easily pull this role off, which was originally played by Leah Remini.
