November 9, 2020

"Wheel of Fortune" is getting a celebrity series for the first time at ABC. The network has ordered a series of "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune", which will see the long-running game show make its primetime debut.

The spin-off will be hosted by Pat Sajak and Vanna White and will see celebrity contestants come spin the wheel and solve word puzzles for a chance to win up to $1M with all of the prize money going to a charity of their choice.

I knew ABC would become game show king because with the success of the To Tell The Truth revival Celebrity Family Feud Holey Moley Who Wants To Be A Millionaire's revival with Jimmy Kimmel Press Your Luck Card Sharks Supermarket Sweep and now Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune will join the ABC game show family and I can sure tell you that when it debuts it will be a huge hit. What I find surprising is that Pat Sajak and Vanna White will also be hosting it rather than someone different because it's always so cool to see familiar faces in game shows. As for celebrity players I would imagine that stars from mostly ABC sitcoms will play. But Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune will be lots of fun when it debuts

Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune will make it's debut January 7th according to the very first preview that aired during yesterday's Supermarket Sweep episode but it doesn't mention what celebrities will be playing

It's been a long time since I watched WOF regularly. Do they still let the celebrities keep non-cash prizes? I remember Bill Walton choosing to solve a puzzle when he was holding a trip but no money, which led to a disgusted comment from Dick Butkus.

Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune has moved it's debut air date to January 8th and will premiere before the debut of the new game show The Hustler with Craig Ferguson. Other facts I learned about Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune is that it will be an eight week series and have a total of 24 celebrity contestants playing. It is also part of ABC's new Winter Fun And Games Lineup too

BestieABC is not sending Celebrity Wheel of Fortune to Fridays, which is what a January 8 move would do. The premiere remains on January 7. Celebrity Wheel of Fortune will lead off the night at 8/7 and The Hustler will close it out at 10/9. ABC's version of The Chase with the Jeopardy! goats will air between them at 9/8.

Hey there JamesG looks like you beat me to it first. I did spot Leslie Jones in the preview for Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune while watching Supermarket Sweep on Youtube this morning and was gonna write about it but I see you knew about it already. The preview shows Leslie holding the Million Dollar wedge and it tells me that she will try to win a million dollars in the first episode. And you say that Chris Harrison will also be playing on Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune as well as Alfonso Ribeiro? That will be so exciting and I might try to see their episode when it airs on Youtube just to see my two crushes play Wheel Of Fortune. Other than those four celebrities playing the rest of the celebrity lineup for Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune is fantastic. Maybe if this is successful Wheel Of Fortune might bring back Celebrity Weeks to syndication as well

Pat Sajak: Celebrity Wheel of Fortune will look "more prime-timey," but will mostly be the same (https://ew.com/tv/celebrity-wheel-of-fortune-preview-pat-sajak/)

Why did it take until tonight for Wheel of Fortune to have a celebrity version? "Part of it is, we've always been careful about not getting the show overexposed," Sajak says of tonight's primetime premiere on ABC. "We've been on a very long time, and I don't know how much Wheel is too much, but you don't want to water the product down too much. And this seemed like the time to do it because of what's going on in the world. Wheel of Fortune is kind of a sign of normalcy for people; they were very glad to have us back on the air. So this seemed like a good time to expand into prime time a little bit, at least one time, and extend that normalcy. And also, the networks frankly need programming. A lot of stuff can't shoot the way (we) do, so the timing worked out. It was good for everybody."

I didn't think Leslie Jones could be more annoying here than hosting Supermarket Sweep. I was wrong. ohno:

How did Leslie Jones do at Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune? Did she win the bonus round and was she a great player?

John Michael Higgins as a contestant will be fun. Overall it seems like a better class of celebrities this season. Tara Lipinski, Melissa Joan Hart, Caroline Rhea, Haley Joel Osment, and Brooke Burns, and Jason Alexander will also be interesting. I am glad Leslie Jones and the men from Holey Moley are not coming back, they were really annoying.

Brooke Burns is gonna be a contestant on Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune this season? Why would they choose her to compete on Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune because she isn't linked to an ABC show? I would've replaced Brooke Burns with Sara Haines or Mark Labbett because they are the stars of The Chase. Although Brooke Burns is wonderful I think this appearance is her ticket to have ABC make her the host of a new game show. It will be fun to see how Brooke Burns can show her Wheel Of Fortune talent. Now that's one episode i'll see on Youtube. Also I'm surprised that Tatyana Ali is gonna compete too because I think she'll do awesome

Jeff Garlin was the most irritating contestant they have had this season. That's bad considering a dumb wrestler was in episode one. If ABC wanted someone from The Goldbergs they should have gotten Hayley Orrantia instead.

The Miz isn’t dumb. Just because you don’t like wrestling you don’t have to knock everyone or everything about it.
