I have wondered how often do people get the seasonal flu?

As far as I know I've never had the flu. I do get the flu shot every year.

I don’t think I’ve had since childhood.

I hardly ever get the flu but I do get a cold about once a year and I've had strep throat several times.

The way I was originally taught, two years is the typical cycle, unless you are isolated from routine exposure in public places.

It infects the person, they pass it on, but recover, and acquire some degree of immunity in the process,....the bug continues to get passed on person to person, same cycle repeats, until it gets passed to livestock (typically in the far east where people live in closer contact with animals) where the bug evolves/mutates into a form that is again contagious to people , , gets passed back into the people pool, where the cycle repeats.

Of course all the covid protocols (masking, distancing, reduced congregation, etc) are bound to help isolate people from passing the flu, as well

I believe that I last had the ordinary flu in dec 2019

Every other year, maybe? But not between 2008 and 2015, when my workplace was offering seasonal flu shots for free.

Had a bad flu when I was 18, it was Asian Flu, really sick, but mom nursed me to good health. I can't recall a flu since, and when I start to feel one may be coming on I hit my body with Oscilliccium and it gets it right away, amazing stuff. I get no flu shots. But I'm big on C, D, Zinc and my fav, grape seed extract. Had to throw that in. Thanks Foggy for a return to this topic.
