4. Jeff Daniels and Jeff Bridges. Again, like Bill Pullman and Bill Paxton, I could never remember who was who because they had the same first name and were in a lot of movies in and around the same time. So, I'd go, "Oh, Bill Paxton, the guy in Independence Day...oh, wait...that was Pullman."

5. Jeff Bridges and Dennis Quaid, but only when Bridges was younger and went clean-shaven in the 1980s.

More recently Thomas Jane and James Purefoy. When I first saw the ad for the short lived series Hap & Leonard, I at first thought Thomas Jane was starring in it.

Here's one that I had twisted, for decades: actress Angie Dickenson and news correspondent Nancy Dickerson.

As a young child I used to see Dickerson do the mid day news on NBC....and a decade later when "Police Woman" became a popular TV show, I got this twisted idea that "Oh yeah, she got her start on NBC news".

And, I carried this misconception for decades. So much so that by the 1990s when I become fond of reading JFK conspiracy books, and they mentioned that JFK had an affair with Dickenson...I was sure he consequently had an affair with the NBC Mid Day News reporter. Thinking "wow, the president and a network news reporter?"

In my defense, in addition to the similarity in the last names, both share a common bone structure in their faces...it's not hard to fathom "peel the makeup and glamour off of Dickinson, and you have Dickerson"....so I likely supposed the flower had bloomed.

Didn't discover my error until around 2010, or so.
