With Gen Y/Millennials reminiscing the 90's as well as the 20th Century...what will the new wave of nostalgia be like since the 21st Century never had that? Will we return to anything from the past...even with the Renaissance?

Not sure if this is what you mean but I see a few returns to the past because the present didn't pay off. First one: college. Back when I was in school it was pushed that not everyone should go to college but those that did (normally the smarter kids) would see the return. However, in many cases, there was never a return, just heavy debt. A later generation was pushed to college even if they shouldn't have gone and we saw things such as remedial classes in college and loosening of standards. The result has been many people with what is basically a piece of paper and working jobs that don't require it. Instead many kids today aren't attending college unless they know what they want and it's a job requiring college (teaching for example).

Here's what I mean...

In the 1970's...the 1950's nostalgia was big.
In the 1980's...the 1960's nostalgia was big.
In the 1990's...the 1970's nostalgia was big.
In the 2000's...the 1980's nostalgia was big.
In the 2010's...the 1990's nostalgia was big.

But there's nothing nostalgic with the 2000's.

Yeah the 2000s were boring. I was in graduate school, and had a corporate job. Oh and I met Duran Duran. That's about it for me.

I don't think nostalgia trends necessarily follow that pattern. The younger generations are still really into the 80's, 90's and previous decades. Just look at the major return of vinyl records.

Well...I enjoy the 60's though I was born in 1982. The entertainment was second-to-none. Maybe 20th Century nostalgia may be seen in the next few years.

Even in the 1960's, Victorian art and that were big because of the British Invasion....
