Can you think of a show that had un-popular ratings and then turned-out to success? Maybe their level wasn't great from the start, or maybe they just didn't have any money, or perhaps a bad time-slot? We all know they're is many shows like this, but is their one that was very surprising? Can you think of a show with this catagory?? I'm not talking about one year wonders here, success stories!

YES, CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!! At the end of the first weeks ratings, cheers came in number 77 out of a possible 77 shows!!!!!!! It stayed very low throughout the first season, then the next year the network picked it up and it started to slowly grow, until it finally became the one of the best, most critically acclaimed, and most popular TV shows ever.

Seinfeld, did not get good ratings initially, but NBC allowed it to continue until it found an audience. The rest is history, because now it is regarded as being one of the most most successful sitcoms of all-time.

"The Facts of Life" originally in it's first season did not crack the top 70, but over a period of time it rose in popularity.
"All in the Family" & "M*A*S*H" were in the 40s in their first seasons, but they rose very highly in their second seasons--AITF to #01 and MASH to #03

Will and Grace I beleive ranked at number 51 it's first season then when they repeated it during the summer it was the summer hit and was the highest rated show in repeats. And now they are a top 10 show.

Everybody Loves Raymond was like #81 during it's first season. Nowadays networks would NEVER give a second chance to even a VERY funny show. Which is probably why shows like Freaks and Geeks, NewsRadio, and Undeclared get cancelled.

It was on for 5 seasons. I think it could have lasted a bit longer if Phil Hartman hadn't been killed. He's what made the show great, IMHO. I love the episode when he gets thrown n the mental ward

His character was pretty funny. Even funnier than Matthew.
