View Full Version : Rowan Blanchard discussed the #MeToo movement.
In a panel (https://www.teenvogue.com/story/rowan-blanchard-halle-bailey-chloe-bailey-emma-kenney-metoo-movement) Rowan (https://www.bustle.com/articles/151335-rowan-blanchard-reveals-the-experience-that-made-her-become-a-feminist) participated (https://www.vice.com/en/article/9kzqy7/will-metoo-change-the-rampant-harassment-in-hollywood) in a couple of months back, she mentioned (https://youtu.be/xvjJ0pZUl38?t=1m23s) a time on a set where she mentioned she saw someone she worked with inappropriately touch someone else she worked with, who was a minor. She reported it privately to the showrunner and no one talked to her the next day, excusing her of trying to destroy this person's career. Do you think this could be connected to GMW? If so, who do you think it is?
PracTz 10-13-2020, 11:08 AM Considering that Miss Blanchard has been a regular in no less than three series starting with 'Dance a Lot Robot' in 2010, it's possible that it might have happened on GMW but not necessarily . Hence, unless she actually SAID it had happened on GMW, there's no point in speculating on possible adult GMW cast members who might have touched a minor inappropriately.
JO Sweet Heart 11-02-2020, 10:40 AM At the end of the day, if the person being touched has no complaints, then to me, that is the only thing that matters.
God bless you always!!!

Sorry, I can't co-sign that. There could be MANY reasons why the person touched 'has no complaints' besides them liking it or not considering the touching inappropriate (and, especially if the person's a minor, inappropriate touching is not something that should be tolerated at any workplace or institution). It could be that the person with 'no complaints' might have been told by their family that they need to put up with anything to keep that job since the family income depended on it or it could be that the person touched didn't think there would be anyone who would help them or even believe them.
Since Miss Blanchard didn't specify which performer/s much less which of the three regular shows she had been on that this allegedly happened on, it would be a bit unfair to speculate on any particular GMW cast members. It may be one day that whoever it was that Miss Blanchard believed was 'inappropriate touched' may decide to tell their story themselves but, for now, has opted to not make this public.
JO Sweet Heart 11-03-2020, 08:08 PM ^^^ I totally get what you are saying there, and I agree that when its a minor who may not know any better or a person using their status/seniority to get whatever they are hoping for, something needs to be done, but a lot of times, other people, in my opinion, only come across as people who are sticking their noses where their noses may not yet belong. I get why their noses are there, but at the end of the day, what they consider over the line may not be over the line in the opinion of who they are labeling the victim. The newest person these days to find themselves in this situation may be actress Candace Cameron Bure. A big deal was made about a recent picture that is out there of Candace and her husband. People didn't like where his hands were and them people didn't hesitate to put their two cents out there about it of course.
God bless you and Candace and her family always!!!

I hate to start speculating, but I recall that one of Rowan's first big post-GMW roles was on The Goldbergs as Adam F. Goldberg's love interest Jackie Geary (https://thegoldbergs.fandom.com/wiki/Jackie_Geary). Rowan played the role for two seasons (Season 4 and 5), but then in Season 6, her character was with virtually little to no warning, recast (https://screenrant.com/goldbergs-show-jackie-rowan-blanchard-recast-reason/). Considering all of the recent brouhaha about Jeff Garlin's apparent misconduct (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/jeff-garlin-exits-the-goldbergs-hr-investigation-1235063600/) on set (https://deadline.com/2021/12/jeff-garlin-exit-the-goldbergs-hr-investigations-season-9-1234892030/), one has to wonder if that in any way, facilitated Rowan's abrupt exit from the show.
The gossip journalist AJ Benza, who happens to be Rowan Blanchard's uncle, recently said on his podcast (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/my-sharona/id1254131606?i=1000649432380) for whom he believes who Rowan was talking about (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/comments/14mkdin/rowan_blanchard_discusses_insppropriate_behavior/). He starts talking about it at the 10:58 mark. Interestingly, Will, Rider, and Danielle on the Pod Meets World podcast recently open up (https://www.reddit.com/r/boymeetsworld/comments/14ls0t1/will_rider_and_danielle_open_up_about/) about supposedly inappropriate behavior the on set of Girl Meets World.
