Just after Valerie won her suit against Lorimar/NBC, she did an interview with the LA Times (https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1988-09-19-ca-1680-story.html), where she said she had been willing to return to the series at any time, and that "there still could have been a sister in law", indicating Sandy Duncan's character, Sandy Hogan.
What would a Hogan Family series with both Sandy Duncan and Valerie Harper have looked like? I know it's kind of a moot point, because the producers killed off Valerie Hogan right away, but it's interesting to imagine what could have been, if Valerie had been allowed to return.
