At least from a showbusiness angle? I bring this up because Drew Barrymore recently said that Hollywood blacklisted (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-8803061/Drew-Barrymore-discusses-blacklisted-12-drug-addiction-far-shes-come.html) her for a while due to her drug addiction issues. While I don't have absolute evidence that Dana Plato herself, got blacklisted, it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case after Dana was fired from Diff'rent Strokes in 1984 for getting pregnant. Looking at her IMDb page, it appears that the highest profile acting gig that she received following DS was guest starring on Growing Pains (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0593297/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_17) in 1985 as a Madonna (https://theveryspecialblog.wordpress.com/2015/11/16/growing-pains-mikes-madonna-story/) impersonator (https://growing-pains.fandom.com/wiki/Lisa). Her subsequent acting gigs were on the really low-budget, B-movie scale. Night Trap (https://studybreaks.com/culture/night-trap-curse-dana-plato/) was perhaps the most noteworthy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_Trap) among this bunch.

I think it would have been unlikely for Dana to have landed an acclaimed or popular role while she was using drugs, while she was still notorious for committing armed robbery. Her reputation had become toxic to her own career.

Doing porn (and being proud of it) probably didn't help her career.
