That is all very interesting. I agree that that spinoff idea probably would not have worked.

It was great seeing don rickles

It reminded me a lot like Punky Brewster, which was one year away.

If we got Max we wouldn’t have gotten Punky as it would have been too similar, an orphan girl living with a widower.


How would The Center been a spin-off? Were they spinning the whole idea of the kids going there until theirs was rebuilt? Or would it have focused on the seniors in the spin-off as it wouldn’t have taken a long time for the new center for kids to be rebuilt and the bee pilot would have featured on the adults and papa Jack, Andy, and the Center administrator and those few older women?


What about The Last Word? Would it have featured on just the restaurant and Nicky and Tyler and Mr. Pappalardo? His character made no sense because that’s an Italian last name and he was talking like he was a Greek or something, calling his kid Nikkos. Or are there Pappalardo’s in Greece or was his last name with a silent “s” like “Pappalardos”?


Parents week was to be a tester of what season 7 was to be or might have been a whole new show with Sam in college. Below Sea Level should have been a Spin-off episode and the week later focused with Sam in college instead of making her sophomore year be part of what season 7 or a new show was to become...instead we got A Different World.


Those are all the spin-off attempts and all failed.
