In this episode, Vinnie mentioned seeing a film that was his inspiration for the balloon idea:

I once saw this really gripping movie where these people were madly in love and they had this crazy dream of getting married, only in their hearts they knew their dream could never be. For one thing, there were three of them. (Well, they were French.) Anyway, they wrote down their dream on a piece of paper, and tied it to a balloon and let the balloon go, and it helped them to let go of their dream.

That might not seem quite so impossible these days what with polyamory gaining more acceptance, but it sounds like it might have been a touching movie. Any idea if the film he mentioned is real, or just something made up for this episode to give Vinnie inspiration? (I've tried to reach out to the episode writer Ellie Herman hoping she might recall, but she seems pretty hard to reach.)

Thanks!
