It's so weird because many years ago, we were told that Nancy McKeon was "discovered" on a Hallmark commercial. But slowly, we've come to realize that can't possibly have been true: Nancy was already on the sitcom circuit for several years, doing guest spots on The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Starsky and Hutch, her brother's show Alice, and animated voiceover work.

Why won't you watch anything that Alex Cord does?
He was so effective as the jerk father that I always saw him as that character no matter what role he was in. Type-A personality, 80s mustache, obnoxious attitude.
