I saw the episode of The Flintstones where Fred and Barney go act in the play Romeo And Juliet but Barney Rubble fakes an illness and says he doesn't want to be in the play but he did anyway. I always wondered if Barney Rubble suffered from stage fright during The Flintstones episodes and he always faked illnesses to make excuses not to do things?

Actually no. In the episode Divided We Sail, Fred had a ticket to the game show The Price is Prized and he was selected as a contestant. But Fred got stage fright so Barney took his place and won the fishing gear and a houseboat as a bonus prize.

No Barney really didn't really have stage fright, but he did have a weird phobia like in the Flintstone Canaries episode where he couldn't sing unless he was in the shower or a tub. One of my favorite episodes.
