Here's an obscure band I discovered while on an alt. rock kick. They were a Scottish alternative rock band who pioneered the dream pop subgenre, mixing the sounds of post-punk, ethereal wave and gothic rock. The lush ethereal guitars in tandem with lead singer Liz Fraser's soprano vocals delving into glossolalia created an airy, ambient atmosphere that made the band stand out differently from other alternative groups at the time. For those familiar with Cocteau Twins, what I'd like to do is list all of their studio albums and everyone who wants to must choose a favorite song from each album. I will start with my list:
Favorite song from Garlands?: Shallow Then Halo
Favorite song from Head over Heels?: In Our Angelhood
Favorite song from Treasure?: Ivo
Favorite song from Victorialand?: Lazy Calm
Favorite song from Blue Bell Knoll?: Blue Bell Knoll
Favorite song from Heaven or Las Vegas?: Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires
Favorite song from Four-Calendar Café?: Bluebeard
Favorite song from Milk & Kisses?: Seekers Who Are Lovers
Now I'd like to go over their other work with this list:
Favorite Cocteau Twins album overall?: Head over Heels
Favorite Cocteau Twins song overall?: Orange Appled
Favorite compilation album?: Stars and Topsoil – A Collection (1982–1990)
Favorite extended play?: Love's Easy Tears
Favorite song from Garlands?: Shallow Then Halo
Favorite song from Head over Heels?: In Our Angelhood
Favorite song from Treasure?: Ivo
Favorite song from Victorialand?: Lazy Calm
Favorite song from Blue Bell Knoll?: Blue Bell Knoll
