How come Staci Keanan used that particular name as her stage name instead of her given name, Anastasia Love Sagorsky? I know that people in show business use stage names (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_stage_names) all of the time for various reasons. Staci uses her given, legal name in her current profession as a deputy district attorney (http://da.lacounty.gov/media/news/man-sentenced-killing-77-year-old-woman-hit-and-run).

Her first on-screen credits were under the name Anastasia Love. I suspect Sagorsky might have been considered "too ethnic" in the early 1980s.

She said on Christine’s podcast that she used her middle name Love, until creator of My two dads said that sounded like a pornstar name and wanted her to change it. Staci said keanan was a family friends name.

Yeah, Sagorsky sounds too generally ethnic, so Keanan sounds perfect as alternative.

She's now a lawyer after moving on from both acting and social media, due to the fact she's now a married woman and wanted to also focus on starting her own new family for her next generation.

Here I had assumed Staci Keanan was her real name, learned something new today.

Put your air brakes on, icecream... She uses "Staci Keanan" most of the time in the public, but that's not her official real name. Her original real full name is "Anastasia Love Sagorsky".

Yeah. Also in the Cold War, Anastasia Sargorsky would have been at least a mild handicap.

Admittedly, her first stage name Anastasia Love made her sound just like a Leningrad prostitute, but hey, nobody’s perfect…

But we just stick with her only real name: Anastasia Sagrosky, nothing else.

Well Staci is short for Anastasia so it’s her real name

Yeah, Mike Love from the Beach boys !:) Love is his real last name ( and his nephew Kevin Love , a basketball player) ! ;) And there was a family in my neighborhood when I was a kid who's last name was Love ! ;)

Anastasia Love does sound like a female prostitute. Apparently, if you were in the Soviet Politburo, you could get *gymnasts*. Um, if you wanted to.

It's better to say "Anastasia Sagorsky" because it's safer than that "Anastasia Love" prostitute version, TBH, IMO.

I knew a Stacey in school but the name just makes you think of "Stacey's Mom has got it going on".

I'm guessing that there was also some concern that "Sagorsky" would be a name that would be kind of difficult for viewers to pronounce. Jane Krakowski, still has a I suppose, decidedly "ethnic" sounding name (I believe that she's of Polish descent), but even then, she still had to change it to make it more "suitable" for Hollywood. Her last name is actually spelled as "Krajkowski".

If Mayim Bialik had started her career in the thirties rather than the eighties, whatever studio she was contracted to - Fox, RKO, Paramount or whatever - would have forced her to use an anglicized/"American" stage name. Something like Mary Bennett, perhaps?
