RetroGuy2000 08-27-2020, 02:47 PM Mindy was very good there, but it was hard for me to not see her as Natalie. Every time she mentioned her father, I kept thinking, "But your father's dead!"
I don't remember this series at all, even though it usually aired right after FOL.

I never saw this show. I didn't watch Facts of Life much like this time either. Unlike Blair and Jo, I was doing what most college and university students were doing on Saturday nights. And it wasn't watching TV shows on Saturday night.

I was still watching FOL. I was just a couple of years younger than Andy, so I wasn't out on the town on Saturday nights. And yet, I have NO memory of this show.
I just watched several episodes from both the Des Moines and NYC eras, including the first and final episodes. It was a pretty cute show (but the twins were far, far older than the high school students they portrayed in the first season).

At that time they were 23/24 years old when the show aired. An age when most people their age would be in graduate school if they were still in school.
Jean Segal has had a very good career as an assistant director for Two and A Half Men and Two Broke Girls.
cfr1970 08-28-2020, 01:57 AM I remember this show! I think it only lasted a season but I really liked it though I don't remember Mindy being on it. I just remember the show itself. Seeing this again makes me miss the 80's so much. I wonder if the series is on dvd because i'd love to own it just for memory sake.
I think Mindy looks really good. She's wearing a lot more makeup here than she did in FOL and it looks very nice.

She was only in one episode, in the NYC season.
For whatever reason, I remember nothing about this show. Nothing!

There is no official DVD release, but you can get it on bootleg DVD from private collectors. However, it ain't gonna be CCed! :(

I stayed up and watched a couple of the episodes last night and I too remember nothing else about the show but the show itself and the 2 twin leads. While watching, I had zero memory of the 2 guys living with them or the aunt. It was all a blank. After all this is 35 years ago for a "blink and you missed it sitcom."
But I clearly remember watching this and enjoying it for the twin leads. I remember one dressed wild and the other was kind of a Needlebutt dressing more conservatively.

It seems You Tube has all the episodes up (there are only 23 total) and hopefully it won't be forced down by irate studio people screaming copyright blather. :cuss:
And they're all CC'd on You Tube. It's not perfect, but good enough to follow along. I looked on it's Wikipedia page and it says the first season only aired from 4/4/84 to 5/30/84 and the second season went from just 12/1/84-3/30/85 so it's understandable not many people would remember this since it literally aired for one month and then for 3 months before being yanked off the TV.

That does seem to be the premise. The girls are cute and appealing. The show's writing was okay, and the other actors are good, too. I remember Barbara Barrie (the aunt) from Suddenly Susan, where she played basically the same character, but as the grandmother.

I'm hoping to see all the episodes, too, before they get yanked. We'll see...
valentina warner 08-28-2020, 01:39 PM I have never heard or seeing this sitcom, but MINDY was so much like NATALIE on it (but she was rich like BLAIR ha ha!) and the dark haired girl who arrived late and ate banana pizza reminded me so much of TOOTIE lol!

Which is because Mindy is so much like Natalie.
80s Dude 08-28-2020, 02:43 PM A series to watch in case if we get locked down again.
DJM77 08-28-2020, 03:36 PM I watched the whole series on YouTube several years ago.

Well, just because Double Trouble came from the same network and production company as The Facts of Life doesn't mean DT has to be in the same universe as TFoL. It's not like Hawaii Five-0 and Scorpion being incorporated into the NCIS Universe (specifically NCIS: Los Angeles) by way of crossovers, guest appearances, and whatnot.

Yeah, clearly they are different universes, since that wasn't a crossover appearance. Mindy was playing a different character; someone who was filthy rich.
