Tori and Trina's mom is apparently is cheating on her dad, Beck lives in a trailer to not follow his parents rules, Jade is estranged from her dad, Cat's parents are speculated to ignore her to focus on her insane brother, and Andre lives with his clinically insane grandma. Robbie mentioned his dad in a few episodes where he states that his dad is ashamed of him which is sad. In some episodes, Robbie mentioned his mom and how she had left one time.

It appears that Tori and Trina's parents are the most stable, and even then, they are rather hands-off and irresponsible. Dan Schneider apparently said that he doesn't want to focus on adults and wants to focus on the kids. Kids seemingly being in control of their lives is kinda like wish fulfillment when you are watching as a kid.
