(The Toronto Raptors won the Eastern Conference Divisional Playoffs, 4 games to 0, by beating the Brooklyn Nets 150-122.)
(Ralph just watched the game from Ed’s apartment.)
Ralph: “What a lousy game Norton. The Nets lost big.”
Ed: “What a bloutz. The Nets lost by 28 pernts.”
Ralph: “Now, I get to hear from that Joe Fenstablau tomorrow. He will be bragging to me how the Raptors trounced the Nets.”
Ed: “Well, me and him were talking over the phone and I agreed with him on one thing.”
Ralph: “What was that?”
Ed: “Well, since the Nets went into the playoffs with a losing record and they were meeting with the Champs, the Raptors, they wouldn’t get far.”
Ralph (yells): “WHAT? ARE YOU DEFECTING TO THE ENEMY NORTON?”
Ed: “What do you mean defecting? I would never do that. I’m a fan of the Nets through and through but I just happen to think that they had the odds against them when they played the Raptors.”
Ralph (yells): “OKAY. PUT ‘EM UP NORTON! PUT ‘EM UP NORTON!”
(They get into a fight that Trixie breaks up.)
(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)
Jackie : “THANK YOU. GOOD NIGHT.”
(Crowd cheers.)
