I am. I admit that when Freddied died, I thought it was so sad & a real shame & tragic that he had died but didn't cry or anything cuz even tho I enjoyed watching CATM back then, I wasn't yet into Freddie. I couldn't figure out why he would commit suicide when he seemed so happy & then I later read his wife was divorcing him & it broke his heart so bad he couldn't go on anymore. :( Now that I got into Freddie thanks to the TVLAND re-runs. I cry & do all sorts grieving that I didn't do back then. I now regret I didn't get into him back then & feel so sad over him. I keep wishing I'd liked him back then & had known him. It's so sad. :crying:

"We" on this Freddie board are new fans and old fans of Freddie. Everyone here agree's that Freddie left us too soon. He left behind his child, parents, fans and friends and we "ALL" had to pick ourselves up from this devastating blow. We still continue to miss him and love him still..........

A big HI to you..........

I was sad, but I was angry at him too..I was only about 13 at the time. I didn't really understand all the pressures of being a grown up and sure didn't understand the pressures of stardom and the toll that depression and drugs takes on a person.
But I've always held my "crush" on him and now I can understand that things were beyond his control when he died.

Ya'll aren't gonna believe this but last nite I am in a bookstore & I have on one of the Freddie t-shirts I made up. A lady came up to me that was in there said she liked my shirt & asked where I got it at. I told her I made it up myself by taking a pic of him & scanning it & putting it on a t-shirt transfer & the getting the transfer put on a shirt. She said she loved Freddie & loved himw hen he was out & loved him for yrs but hadn't heard anything about him in along time.I told her the only way you can find out about him these days anymore is if you have the internet to go on the internet & there are all sorts of sites with info on him on it & I hang out on them & you can get on there & hang on there with ohter nice people & find out about him etc. I would have given her the addy for these boards but didn't have pen or paper. She said he was so handsome & cute & I'm agreeing with her. She asked me what his sons name was as she couldn't remember his name so I told her Freddie Prinze Jr & she said that's it or that's right or some such. She had her daughter with her & her daughter didn't know who Freddie was so she tried to explain to her who Freddie was explaining he was an actor who was popular when she was young & was Jrs father. Tha lady wasn mentioning him to me again & told her if she had the internet she cuold look up all the neat sites on him & be able to hang out with us all on there. Wow, there are other people besides us who really thing he is handsome & love him too! :) Wow! :) Our Prinze is still remembered! :)

And rightfully so Cheryl. Freddie was a big TV idol to millions of ladies. I'm surprised that more woman haven't joined this board yet. Freddie was bigger than Jr. and alot of people don't know that.

DEVASTATED would be the word I would use. I was very young and very smitten. I got so sick I ended up with mono and flat on my back for 2 weeks. A bit obsessive I supposed but he was what I suppose you would call my first crush.....puppy love, and I had never lost anyone I knew. Altho I did not know Freddie, it sure felt like I lost someone I was close to. So much so, I still cry when I think about what happened. There are days when I cant come here because tears just well up in my eyes at the thought of Freddie and loosing him, but knowing that I am not alone in my sadness at his loss helps......know that my friends here understand and share these feelings. I am very thankful to have you all. God Bless You.

He shot himself in the early morning hours of Sat, Jan 28th, 1977. In the hospital, he clung to life until later the next day, when he died.

Well, I wasn't born until 1981 so I'm unable to say how I felt learning about his suicide right after he had died. But learning about it years later, I'm very saddened about his death and what he had been going through. :(

One day, my mother mentioned him after I had asked her if all celebrities are very happy because they are wealthy. She told me that 'there isn't any amount of money in the world that can make a person feel better if they are having personal problems, just look at what happened to Freddie Prinze'. Now being that I wasn't aware of who he was at the time, I asked her," Who was that?" She said,"He was a comedian from the seventies who shot himself when he was very young." So, I searched for him online by typing his name in a search engine text box and all of this information came up about him.I think my interest in him started by the sadness that developed regarding his death, you know, a sympathy thing. But since then, I've become interested in other things about him as well.

He was a very funny and sensitive guy and it's very unfortunate that he left this world so young. :( :crying:

Freddie Prinze left us way too soon. His death was a devasting blow to the entertainment industry no doubt. But his spirit lives on and I'm sure he is smiling down at all this attention. We still have our CATM tapes to watch and our wonderful memories of him. No one can take that away...so if you think of it that way he is with us even now. He had brought us all much happiness and for that we will always be grateful. He is our Prince!!!
