How come there’s literally no interviews of her before or even during FM? I’ve never actually seen what her personality was like in real life. But all I know is Jaleel mentioned that she taught him a thing or two about respect, and that if anybody was eating on the set, she’d knock the food out of their hands and say “we don’t eat food here!” I know she did a lot of theater and paved the way for many black actresses.

Also, I read that in 98 or 99 she was presented with this special award. Was that her last public appearance? Did she go straight to NJ into the nursing home as soon as FM ended?

Telma Hopkins also said Rosetta had trouble with her lines during Gimme a Break and almost didn’t do FM but she called the producers and decided to do one last show before retiring and gave it her all.

To me, she did a wonderful job on her Family Matters character. My favorite thing about mother Winslow was her being one of Steve's few supporters.
