We all love the running gag of Mr. Mondello being out of town or in Cincinnati but what was something about Eddie’s father that was repeated often?

Supposedly giving Eddie advice on having connections, knowing the right people, befriending the help, etc?

That’s it. Even as far back as joining the scouts he mentions how his father says you can meet the right people. I like in one episode Wally is studying about the Phoenicians and he told Ward Eddie says “Why study about people you’ll never meet in business.”

Also “My girl goes to boarding school. My father says that’s a good indication her family has money. He says not to waste time with people who don’t count.” Eddie also would tell June his mother says she must spend all her time in the beauty parlor or her kitchen is so clean it looks like she never does any work there.
