If anyone knows how to fill in the below blank let me know: Here is where you can hear this version -

"Boy the way Glen Miller played. Songs that made the hit parade. Guys like us we had it made. Those were the days. Didn't need no welfare states. Everybody pulled his weight. Gee our old Lasalle ran great. Those were the days. And you know where you were then. Girls were girls and men were men. Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again. People seemed to be content. 50 dollars paid the rent. Freaks were in a circus tent. Those were the days. Take a little Sunday spin. Rather watch the Dodgers win. Have yourself a dandy day that _______________. Hair was short and skirts were long. Kate Smith really sold a song. I don't know just what went wrong. Those were the days!"

Even more lyrics! This is the final stanza from the end credits of "Those Were the Days," the second "All in the Family" pilot, which I viewed at the Museum of TV and Radio in New York City:

"Had my 12-tube radio / Loved 'The Eddie Cantor Show' / Where did all that beauty go? / Those where the days"

You know what, I have heard that from the pilot also. I think I have it on tape.
