What I mean is that Boy Meets World was actually pretty unique in that it was essentially a seven year long coming of age tale for Cory and company. But are there any teen and tween-centric sitcoms like Boy Meets World (as well as Saved by the Bell and The Facts of Life, if you really want to go back a little) on prime time network television of recent times? And more specifically, shows that frankly broach (https://www.looper.com/236504/90s-tv-shows-that-would-never-get-made-today/) real-life issues such as drugs, domestic violence, and sexuality.

Nowadays, we seem to commonly see tween-targeted sitcoms on the Disney Channel or Nickelodeon. This is probably why Girl Meets World didn't resonant as much as it possibly could've been. It was more than likely hamstrung by being aired on the obstinately squeaky clean Disney Channel instead of ABC like it's predecessor.

I suppose The Goldbergs is the closest "modern" example that I can immediately think of of a prime time network show that's decidedly "teen-centric". But that particular show isn't as decidedly "intense" with its subject matter (even though it's inspired by the real life childhood of Adam F. Goldberg back in the '80s) as Boy Meets World tended to be.
