In pizza chains while Pizza Hut Domino's Pizza and Little Caesars Pizza reigned supreme there was Shakey's Pizza Parlor. As you can see from their commercials Shakey's Pizza Parlor was very popular and was not just a pizza place it was a place that had everything that catered to families and everybody else. Shakey's Pizza Parlor also had commercials advertising their special buffets with their famous Mojo Potatoes which were homemade potato chips. Shakey's Pizza Parlor went broke in the 90's but Shakey's Pizza Parlor still remains in business in Asia where it's hugely popular. But the commercials are fun to look at if you want to learn more about Shakey's Pizza Parlor

Hi Bestie! I miss Shakey's. They were original and corny. They should bring them back.

We had a Shakey's Pizza Parlor less than 2 miles from our local college, so it was a great hangout for the students. They had a piano and sing-a-longs on Friday & Saturday nights. It was a very loud restaurant on those nights. They'd wear the red & white striped shirts and white straw hats and you could watch the guys toss the pizza dough up in the air. It was very popular in the late 70's & early 80's here in our area.

They are still open in the US there a few near my home in California.

They closed ours in the late 80's or early 90's. They may have some in other Tennessee cities but not here in our city. It was a fun place to hang out.
