I'm back for another potentially lame, yet light-hearted thread.

Do you have any favorite cars from the show, or just ones you find novel in a nostalgic kind of way?

For me it's Clarence Roberts' Cadillac DeVille convertible (what a behemoth) and Michael Rosenblum's girlfriend Lisa's 1980 Pontiac Sunbird. I also get a kick out of the Chevy LUV in the Dan Short segment, because when's the last time you saw a Chevy LUV?

I'll post something of actual substance and/or importance soon, I promise.

This is kind of on topic to your original post. A while back there was a person on eBay trying to sale a truck that was used in one of the UFO segments. I believe it was used in the Guardian segment if I remember correctly. That was one of the oddest and most random things I’ve seen on eBay lately.

Charles Morgan's Mercury Cougar, which he's seen driving several times throughout the segment.

I love those late 70's family cars, in particular the Cougars, Thunderbirds and Ford Elites with those long engines. We had a green Ford Elite when I was little. My dad sold it when I was 7 and I remember crying when the new owner drove it away.

This isn't a car, but I'm going to have to say the Bicycle Bandit's bike. That bike withstood an overweight man riding it through multiple bank robberies and getting away. That bike must have had some serious TORQUE so it deserves an honorable mention.

Tim McClure's El Camino. I am not a fan of El Camino but I always found it humorous that McClure drove one. For some reason, kit seems to fit his personality (I don't mean any offense to those who like El Camino's.

There were great cars in the Audrey Moate segment.

One that bothered me was the car that was destroyed in a certain segment. It appeared to be a 1953-54 car, primer gray in color. The segment was a Lost Loves. Can't remember which one it was, but the mother of a young sister and brother was killed while driving it. The kids were with their grandma at the time and saw it on TV. I believe the sister had lost touch with the brother after both were put into foster care and she was looking for him. I hated that the car was destroyed for the purpose of the recreation--I've always abhorred the destruction of classic metal. Once it's gone, it's gone. Glad we have more special effects these days which can help spare these classics.

In a piece of my family history that has never, ever been lived down, back in the early '80s when my dad was finishing up college he managed to convince my mom to trade her 1977 Camaro Z28 for a 1982 Chevette, under the auspices of it being a more economical, practical, wallet-friendly car. The Chevette ended up crapping out like a year later.

Mine was pretty reliable. The body rusted out before anything mechanical ever forced it off the road. I wouldn't have been making that trade, though haha.

I'd also throw in a mention for the green 1955 Buick described as the getaway car in the Roxanne & Christopher Jeeves segment. Even more noteworthy considering that (unspeakably horrendous) crime took place in 1981.

About 20 year ago, a car that was advertised as having been in the "Resurrection Mary" segment was auctioned off in a small town close to where I live. The auction was on a Friday night and I thought about going, mostly out of curiosity. None of my friends were interested in going with me so I decided to just stay home. I never heard what the car sold for or who bought it.
How the car ended up in Gosport, Indiana is anybody's guess.

Good thread, by the way.

The DALE. :p

haha...I saw a similar 3 wheeled car in England that some of our pilots at work used as a morale vehicle. Every day I went to work I would smile because I'd have to walk past "the dale"

this is a great idea for a thread. Someone mentioned audrey moate, I always think of the car in that segment. Also the 1955 Buick that was featured in the Roxanne Jeeves segment.

In the Matthew McCon-a-hey episode, the Pasadena, TX Police Car that does the crazy turnaround. It is the same style of vehicle that Houston PD used back then and I always remember seeing them when I was a kid. In 89' I moved to Houston from a very small TX town. That was when I first started watching UM, so I was always super scared of those police vehicles.

The yellow Volkswagon from the Son of Sam segment. To this day, every time I see a yellow Volkswagon Bug I say, "It's the Son of Sam car", and try to check the license plate for a GUR or GVR.

I also immediately think of the Dwayne McCorkendale segment when I see a tractor trailer. When I see a tractor trailer and a motorcycle is nearby, Jay Durham comes to mind.

Tracy Wofford-Bunn's late 70s U.S. market Ford Fiesta. You almost never see those anymore.
